Erie, Pa. — The Millcreek Swim Team (MIST) turned heads at its Spring Intrasquad Meet on April 23 at McDowell Intermediate High School, showcasing remarkable improvement, energy, and depth across all age groups.

From first-time racers to seasoned competitors, swimmers posted personal bests throughout the meet, highlighting a spring season of focused training and growing confidence. One of the most eye-catching performances came from eight-year-old Wade Bagnoni, who stunned teammates and coaches with a massive 51-second time drop in the 100-yard Individual Medley—an extraordinary leap that brought the crowd to its feet.

Ten-year-old Addelinn Seth also delivered a standout swim, slashing nearly 17 seconds from her 100 IM to signal major momentum heading into the summer season. Fellow 10-and-under standout Adelyn Nagle impressed with a 17.6-second improvement in her 100 IM, while Melanie Mujic posted an 11-second drop in the 100 freestyle, reflecting strong gains in both endurance and technique.

Beyond the headline performances, the meet was packed with personal bests and first-time event completions, underscoring the program’s emphasis on long-term development and team-wide progress. Swimmers across all age groups stepped up, raced fearlessly, and supported one another in a true team atmosphere.

“This meet was all about growth,” said Head Coach Michael Esper. “The time drops we saw—big and small—are a direct result of the swimmers’ hard work and positive attitude. The future is very bright for this group.”

With spring training paying off in a big way, MIST now looks ahead to a busy and exciting summer season in Erie.
